Exxon
When the Southeastern Division of Exxon Co., USA, wanted to create a more positive work environment, LEARN INC. helped co-facilitate a one-day meeting and training session with the company’s change agents. LEARN INC. made recommendations regarding the facilitation techniques being used by the group to help create a more positive work environment.

Harrah's Entertainment
"Harrah’s trains the industry," and their training programs are used as a benchmark for many casino companies. When Harrah’s was opening its Harrah’s Casino New Orleans property, LEARN INC. was certified to conduct the company’s key customer service program, "FOCUS." LEARN INC. conducted a number of sessions with managers and employees as part of the pre-opening process. LEARN INC. has previously developed custom programs for Harrah’s Casino New Orleans, including customer service, sexual harassment, fair employment practices, and coaching skills for supervisors.

Health Management Partners
With the goal of systemizing training systems and upgrading the company’s training programs, HMP hired LEARN INC. to act as a consultant. LEARN INC. helped HMP to develop a curriculum geared toward better understanding of employee assistance programs, workplace violence, stress management, and other health-related training issues. LEARN INC. also helped HMP develop training systems to improve their cycle of service for training for client companies.

Mandalay Resort Group
When this Las-Vegas-based organization, formerly Circus Circus Enterprises, began a process of developing a strategically directed customer-focused culture, LEARN INC. helped to jump-start the process. Working in conjunction with the Discovery Group, a New Orleans-based market research company, LEARN INC. developed a series of training programs geared toward developing a positive corporate culture for the Mandalay property opening in Detroit (MotorCity Casino). These programs included a company orientation, leadership development training, and work readiness training. LEARN INC. was also charged with overseeing the company’s key "cultural touchpoints," including the Human Resources policy manual, the employee handbook, and the complete set of departmental procedural manuals. These documents were tied to the values and belief systems laid out in the HR documents, so that the company’s guiding principles would be carried out on the casino floor, not just "talked about" in the classroom.

Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall
When Sam’s Town needed to develop a leadership training system quickly, LEARN INC. developed a Train-The-Trainer program for the top leadership group of the casino to help them develop and roll out their own leadership development workshop series.

Smoothie King Franchises
In the past, the lack of effective training for front-line employees at the rapidly expanding Smoothie King contributed to high turnover and low morale among these Generation X employees. LEARN INC. developed a self-directed modular training program that allowed employees to manage learning at their own pace, with guided assistance from their managers. This program literally cut employee training time in half, and led employees to feel more successful early on in their work, reducing turnover and increasing job satisfaction, and ultimately improving customer service.

Texaco
Career Development
As Texaco faced major changes in their business conditions, and many employees faced layoffs or lateral career moves, LEARN INC. worked with a team of associates and Human Resources representatives at Texaco to implement a systematic career development process for domestically based international business units. The process included a marketing-oriented kickoff and the design of related materials. The project also included the creation of a global project plan for possible implementation on a global basis. Five workshops were developed and delivered: Resume Writing, Career Journey, Strategic Development and two management orientations on supporting employee development. Primarily, LEARN INC. assisted with the instructional design of these workshops. The project was completed in one year.

Strategic Workforce Development
When Texaco needed a week-long strategic planning workshop in a hurry, LEARN INC. worked with Bench Consulting, a consulting company located in the Southeast, to design a training program that included an overview for corporate, strategic, tactical, and workforce planning. This program, designed for an international oil company, was designed in less than three weeks (normally it would take 6-8 weeks). The intent of the workshop was to solidify strategic relationships. The program materials were written in English and Russian.

Tidewater Industries
It’s important for employees to know the benefits of working for an organization, especially when there is high turnover in the organization. Working in conjunction with the Discovery Group, a New Orleans-based market research firm, LEARN INC. developed an orientation segment for front-line employees that emphasizes the benefits of employment at Tidewater, and underscores the importance placed on safety in the organization.

Touro Infirmary
The healthcare industry has undergone significant changes in the past few years, and customer service, teamwork, and effective communication are critical to success. LEARN INC. worked with Touro to develop Touro University, a system geared to helping the leadership group of the company to perform at the highest levels based on key core competencies. Touro U also helps employees focus on service, teamwork, and communication through a variety of training programs.

Tulane University
LEARN INC. conducts a class at Tulane’s University College called "Learning and Development in Organizations," which is offered as part of the curriculum for the Human Resources Certificate program.
